-
1
We begin your appointment with an informal chat about your oral health and hygiene routines at home. We make sure you are feeling fit and well, and ask if you have any areas of concern.
-
2
We assess your teeth and gums, looking for areas of plaque build-up, any signs of early gum disease or beginnings of decay. We determine the amount of plaque removal needed and any risk factors that need to be highlighted.
-
3
The main part of your appointment is a professional teeth clean. We scale your teeth, removing plaque build-ups from all areas of your mouth using small, sterile tools. We then polish your teeth, leaving them looking and feeling smooth, clean and bright.
-

To finish, we give you some personalised tips and advice. We show you how to look after your teeth and gums to help them remain plaque-free. We also advise on the best brushing techniques, including using interdental brushes or floss.

Why is dental hygiene important?
Your excellent oral health starts with healthy gums. Seeing an expert dental hygienist helps you keep your teeth and gums in great condition, promoting a clean, bright and fresh mouth. Our hygienist is highly skilled at removing plaque build-ups that could cause irritation and lead to further problems.
Dental hygiene also works to prevent gum disease and decay. We check thoroughly for any signs of disease or infection at every appointment, treating anything before it can get worse. Left untreated, gum disease can cause your gums to recede and can even lead to tooth loss. At S10, we ensure that your teeth and gums stay in the best possible health, leaving you with fresh breath and a confident smile.
