What does an emergency appointment involve?

  1. 1

When you arrive, we begin with a thorough assessment of the injured area. We ask you about your dental emergency and may take dental x-rays* to determine the extent of the damage.

  2. 2

We numb the area with local anaesthetic to keep you comfortable, depending on the severity of your pain. We then sterilise the area to reduce the risk of infection.

  3. 3

We restore your damaged teeth, either with a temporary or permanent restoration, depending on the case.

  4. 4

In severe emergency cases, you may need further treatment, such as an extraction or dental implant. This is discussed with you, including information on costs, and we book your next appointments.

What is a dental emergency?

If you have a chipped or broken tooth as a result of an accident or injury, it is important that you see a dentist as soon as possible. A dental emergency also covers one or more knocked out teeth, broken crowns, abscesses, facial swelling and severe pain.

The sooner that you see a dental professional, the better the chances that your problem can be fixed quickly and effectively. At S10 Dental, we are compassionate and understanding, and give the same high standards of treatment as with our regular dental care. We take care of your injuries to ensure you heal more quickly, ensuring that you avoid additional dental problems and complications in the future.
