General Dentistry

General dentistry is typically thought of as the primary branch of dental care, and is usually your main reason for visiting the dentist. It focuses on the overall health of your teeth, gums and mouth, helping you maintain a healthy smile for life.

We recommend that most people visit the dentist for a regular check-up every six months, although if you are in excellent oral health you may be able to visit once a year. Regular visits allow us to monitor your teeth and gums, and spot any problems before they have the opportunity to worsen.

A typical check-up involves a thorough examination of your teeth, gums, and mouth to look for any signs of decay, gum disease, or other issues. Your dentist may also take x-rays to see what’s happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums.
