What does Inman Aligner treatment involve?

  1. 1

We begin with a consultation to make sure you are suitable for Inman Aligner treatment. We examine your teeth and take digital scans so your appliance can be custom-created with a snug and comfortable fit.

  2. 2

When your Inman Aligner is ready, we show you how to wear it and give you some tips for treatment. You need to wear your aligner for 20 hours a day, removing it for eating and drinking. We see you for regular appointments to make small adjustments for the best possible outcome.

  3. 3

Once your teeth are straight, your treatment is finished! We make sure you are happy with your results and give you a retainer to keep your teeth straight for the long term.

How does the Inman Aligner work?

The Inman Aligner applies pressure to the teeth through a specially designed lingual coil and a labial bar. The lingual coil places force on the teeth and the bar pushes that force back. These two mechanisms squeeze the teeth together in a ‘push and pull’ technique, moving the teeth into the desired position in an incredibly short time frame. We can also use the Inman Aligner to realign teeth that have relapsed following previous orthodontic treatment.

Frequently asked questions

For the quickest results, you should wear your aligner for 16-20 hours a day. You should only take it out to eat, drink anything other than water, and clean your teeth.
