What does the treatment for dentures involve?

  1. 1

During your consultation, we discuss your needs and expectations, and make sure you are suitable for dentures. We take scans and images of your mouth so a model denture can be produced and checked for fit, bite and comfort.

  2. 2

The model dentures are adjusted until we are both happy with the look and feel. They are then created in a dental laboratory to your exact specifications. When ready, we invite you for a fitting appointment.

  3. 3

We show you how to fit your dentures into your mouth. They should feel snug on your gums and are able to be removed for cleaning. We make sure you are happy and give you some aftercare tips.

Types of dentures at S10 Dental

The type of denture you choose can vary, often depending on the material used to create the base. Cobalt chrome dentures are thinner and smaller, and don’t need to cover the roof of your mouth. They have a secure and precise fit, often held in place by your existing healthy teeth.

Acrylic dentures are a more cost-effective alternative. They tend to be thicker and bulkier than cobalt chrome, and are slightly more prone to breaking, but a well-made acrylic denture should last for many years.
